POSITION OVERVIEW
Subsea7 has a requirement for
Junior
Supply Chain Specialist to join the Gulf of Mexico team based in our Houston, US (United States) office.
The Junior SCM Specialist is responsible for:
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Operate within standardized SCM policies, processes and systems and leverage the systems side to support the provision of relevant quality metrics.
- Work closely with the SCM Lead to develop the project procurement strategy.
- Register and qualify new suppliers utilizing SAP Ariba software.
- Source competitive bids from qualified suppliers for goods and services that meet specification, quality, budgetary and schedule requirements.
- Perform commercial bid evaluations and prepare recommendation to award summaries.
- Assist SCM with negotiations and award commitments with suppliers ensuring that the most favorable terms of contract are obtained.
- Develop relationships with suppliers including performing sites visits.
- Assist in placing and managing purchase orders, ensuring that delivery dates are met, and any supply issues are resolved.
- Proactively liaise and support internal clients with performance of the assigned SCM activities.
- Assist in managing the defined elements of the supply chain process as delegated.
- Capitalize from lessons learned and ensure work is performed in accordance with best practice, striving to mitigate risk, promoting safety and integrity consistently.
Professional Qualifications and Experience:
- Work experience in a similar role is advantageous
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, logistics or related technical/analytical field is advantageous.
- Working knowledge and experience with SAP / SAP Ariba is advantageous.
- Some experience in project/package management is advantageous.
- Some knowledge of supplier evaluation, purchase order creation and negotiation is required.
Person Specification:
- Must demonstrate excellent willingness to hone negotiation skills and have some previous experience of working with purchasing.
- Must be flexible, open to changing priorities and reliable.
- Ability to articulate learning and development experiences and a willingness to participate in development of own career.
