Job Summary:
This position oversees all Bulk scheduling of liquefied gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide in a geographic region of domestic US.
The Distribution Planner IV role is for personnel who have demonstrated through their performance the ability to manage an enhanced workload, or for new hires who have advanced their development prior to working at Messer.
The Distribution Planner IV is expected to perform Peer Leadership tasks, engaging in place of supervisory staff when needed.
The Distribution Planner IV will actively engage in Best Practice Development projects and will be a peer model of expected performance.
Providing a team leadership role, the Planner serves as the main point of contact for all customer operations requiring Messer products, coordinates all scheduling activity and monitors customer product inventory levels daily via systems use at the National Operations Center in Bethlehem, PA.
This position works closely with the Sales Organization, Supply Field Locations Management, CES and Logistics in the development of a team service approach to servicing Messer customers.

Planning and Organizing:
- Uses proprietary software systems to determine forecasted customer demand, schedule deliveries to avoid service interruptions at the lowest costs with the greatest utilization of assets and payloads
- Identifies, opportunities to improve best practice initiatives inside the National Scheduling Center
- Ensures compliance with standard procedures for self and peers.
- Works with distribution KPI's and other scorecards to maximize continuous improvement efforts; provides peer assistance when issues arise in region
- Manages all local customer data for working patterns, access times and usage rates to ensure an accurate forecast
- Works with Distribution Planning Manager, Sales, and local Supply Teams to regularly evaluate most efficient way to manage customer demand and location resources
- Maintain all customer care notes in proprietary software systems for off hours coverage and internal use
- Be a superuser of Distributionrelated systems
Day to Day Operations:
- Manages daily customer demand with plants or daily dispatch for the geographic team
- Works to identify and resolve customers or location issues
- Works with location and National Scheduling Center management using the systems provided, monitors all internal and external levels of service and key performance indicators (KPIs) used in the measurement of customer satisfaction
- Work closely with the account representatives and location management, plant operations and logistics within a region to collaborate regularly on a range of customer priorities, implications and initiatives
- Oncall for afterhours coverage support, when business needs demand attention. Additional Accountabilities — Fosters a positive team environment
- Meets team KPI's
- Assist in the meeting Regional sales and profit goals through delivery of customer service and cost targets
- Assist in the delivery of Messer Safety goals
- Perform as part of the field's Regional Distribution management team
- Demonstrated capability to handle complex and broad workload (Union locations, specialty customers, multiple locations, etc.)
- Additional duties as assigned (junior planner assessments, location master data reviews, etc.)
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in business, logistics or supply chain management discipline preferred
Minimum 6 years of experience with scheduling and distribution systems
