    Description

    Position: Embedded Software Engineer

    Location: Lisle IL (Day 1 On-site)

    Looking to join Navistar's Low-Level Software Team? As an embedded software engineer, you'll dive into ECU software development for multiple ECUs. Your tasks range from requirement discovery to testing, including working on projects involving AUTOSAR and non-AUTOSAR ECUs. Expect to work collaboratively on various tasks with minimal supervision, supporting colleagues, participating in technical discussions, and team-based activities across multiple sites.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Perform in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams
    • Conduct software requirement analysis and development
    • Design and implement software
    • Conduct software testing and support integration and releases
    • Automate tasks using scripting languages like Perl, Python, etc.
    • Engage in internal and external peer reviews

    Desired Skills:

    • Disciplined software engineering practices
    • Proficiency in C programming language
    • Experience with embedded software development and testing tools
    • Familiarity with CAN (J1939 strongly preferred)
    • Knowledge of embedded concepts like AUTOSAR, RTOS, etc.
    • Proficiency in requirement analysis, authoring, and design documentation
    • Experience in automotive or heavy vehicle ECU software design
    • Ability to interpret schematics and component data sheets
    • Knowledge of embedded software development with MPC or TriCore microcontroller families
    • Proficient in software debugging using Lauterbach, iSYSTEM, or similar tools
    • Strong problem-solving skills and issue root cause identification
    • Demonstrated technical leadership for experienced software engineers
    • Excellent technical communication abilities
