    Description

    Position: Embedded Software Engineer

    Location: Lisle, IL

    Customer: Tech Mahindra

    An adept embedded software engineer within the Navistar Low-Level Software Team plays a crucial role in ECU software development for various ECUs. This multifaceted role involves activities throughout the entire software development lifecycle, encompassing requirement analysis, software requirement drafting, design, coding, and testing. Ongoing projects feature both AUTOSAR and non-AUTOSAR ECUs. Software implementation entails tasks in the C language and software component configuration. Individuals are expected to handle diverse task categories with minimal supervision, operating within a team-based setting alongside members at different locations. Responsibilities include aiding colleagues' tasks, engaging in reviews, and technical dialogues.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Work collaboratively in a team environment with cross-functional collaboration
    • Perform software requirement analysis and development
    • Contribute to software design
    • Undertake software implementation
    • Execute software testing which may involve unit testing
    • Support software integration and releases
    • Implement automation through scripting languages like Perl, Python, etc.
    • Participate actively in both internal and external peer reviews
    • Practice disciplined software engineering and development
    • Proficient in C language for software development
    • Utilize tools for embedded software development and testing such as CANalyzer, debuggers, etc.
    • Proficiency in CAN (J1939 highly desired)
    • Experience in working with development frameworks and software development based on defined architectures
    • Familiarity with embedded concepts like AUTOSAR, RTOS, etc.
    • Conduct requirement analysis and authoring
    • Create design documentation
    • Experience in automotive or heavy vehicle ECU software design
    • Ability to comprehend schematics and component datasheets
    • Engage in embedded software development with knowledge of MPC or TriCore microcontroller families
    • Conduct software debugging using tools like Lauterbach, iSYSTEM, or similar debuggers
    • Apply strong problem-solving skills and techniques for issue root cause identification
    • Demonstrate technical leadership for experienced software engineers

    Strong technical communication skills are essential for this role.
