The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) is looking for a Social Media and Public Relations Assistant to join the team.


Job Summary


The Social Media and Public Relations Assistant supports the Communications department with day-to-day administrative processes; this includes scheduling calls, managing agendas, consolidating content and action items and coordinating team wide communications.

It also requires social media content monitoring, editing and idea generation.


Responsibilities:


  • Have an understanding of social media platforms including, but not limited: Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram
  • Assist PR and Social media coordinator to organize social media calendar for 4 platforms
  • Help to create and edit social media content when needed/where applicable
  • Assist in idea generation for social media posts and graphic design
  • In tandem with the PR and Social Media Coordinator, monitor social media platforms and flag when messages need attention
  • Help social media specialist gather data for social media reports
  • Input predrafted content into social media monitoring platform
  • Monitor internal list serves for content generation idea
  • Monitor news articles and reporters to build media lists
  • Assist with scheduling media interviews
  • Support PR manager in pitch efforts when needed
  • Assist with inputting information into Smartsheet
  • Help to schedule meetings and note taking where applicable
  • Assist in scheduling meetings
  • Simple editing duties
  • Additional duties as assigned

Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree preferred; and up to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
