Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Communications Specialist, Expert, to join our team.

This role is critical to workforce safety and the success of our safety and health programs and projects in preventing work-related injuries and ensuring everyone and everything is always safe for our coworkers, contract partners, and the public, who are the customers we are privileged to serve.

The Communications Specialist, Expert, will develop and disseminate comprehensive communication strategies, engaging messaging, resources, and calls to action. The position supports Enterprise Health and Safety in improving workforce safety performance in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting.

This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.

The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.


A reasonable salary range is:


California Minimum:
$108,000


California Maximum:
$173,000


Bay Area Minimum:
$114,000


Bay Area Maximum:
$182,000

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and based on business needs


Key Responsibilities:

Communication Strategy and Content Development**:
Research and create content for internal communication purposes, providing information on programs, standards, projects, and organizational initiatives.
Utilize cross-functional knowledge and expertise to maintain consistency in messaging, tone, and voice.
Support other communication efforts, internally and cross-functionally, by providing ideas, edits, and formatting to support communication strategies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop communication deliverables for target audiences.
Develop messaging and communication strategies for key initiatives and business changes/impacts.

Manage requests for specialized information (programs, procedures, policies, projects, initiatives) for use by other departments or internal and external clients.


Internal Focus:


Assist in developing, implementing, and coordinating coworker communications and change management strategies to communicate critical business initiatives, internal updates, changes, and leadership messages.

Facilitate and build collaborative relationships within the company to develop strategies for communicating products and programs.
Consult with organization leaders to project a unified and consistent message.
Gather employee insights and feedback to understand how messages are received and incorporate them into future communications.


Responsibilities:

Demonstrate broad expertise and understanding of fundamental communication concepts.
Manage and lead complex communication initiatives and projects, identifying innovative solutions.
Manage cross-functional projects or initiatives.
Work with Directors and VPs across the organization to influence decisions around internal communications.

Design and develop communications for use in various media and contexts, catering to organizational-wide audiences or large groups of functional area coworkers.

Manage communication programs, including project plans, timelines, milestones, communication documents, and other collateral materials.
Define and utilize communication measures and metrics to monitor performance objectives.
Build relationships with leaders across the enterprise, provide strategic counsel, and ensure communication alignment with department goals.
Identify and understand industry best practices and incorporate them into communication strategies and plans.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing or a relevant field, or equivalent experience
Valid driver's license required.
Minimum of 6 years of related work experience.
