Description
Automotive Chief Financial OfficerSalary is negotiable.
This is not a remote position.

Summary
Directs the dealership group's financial planning, reporting, and accounting practices, as well as its relationship with lending institutions and the financial community by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.
(Administrative/General)Essential Duties
Oversees and directs treasury, budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing, real estate and insurance activities for the dealership.
Works closely with the dealer on long-range planning, cash management and funds allocation.
Maintains relationships with financial institutions on matters of lines of credit, retail installment relationships, and funds management.
Analyzes, consolidates, and directs all cost accounting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports.
Directs and analyzes studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the dealership's policies and operations.
Directs the controllers of three (3) dealerships averaging 650+ retail sales per monthin providing and managing the procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services.
Oversees and directs the preparation and issuance of the dealerships' year-end adjusted financial report in concert with accounting firm guidance.
Appraises the dealership's financial position and issues periodic financial and operating reports.Maintains close working relationships with accounting firmto ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and maintenance of a dealership financial structure designed to minimize tax liabilities.
Maintains close working relationship with legal counsel to ensure that all dealership financial activities are properly conducted, documented, and reported.
Assists the dealer and general managers with cash flow management by working with the controllers to follow contracts-in-transit, accounts receivables/aging, warranty receivables/aging and purchaser loan payoffs.
Provides dealer principal with any negative trend observations.Assists the general managers in preparing financial projections and budgets for each retail facility.
Negotiates relationships with insurers to provide insurance coverage and other benefits.
Represents the dealer as a personal agent within the dealerships and at functions outside the dealerships.
Other tasks as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly responsible for the management of all accounting personnel at all dealership locations.

Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in accounting from four-year college or university, active CPA preferred.
Minimum of four years related automotive CFO accounting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficient in CDK.
Proficient in EXCEL.
Excellent personnel management skills.
Language

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
