The Crew Chief in Training's main responsibility is to learn the technical and managerial skills required to become a Crew Chief.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn and refine technical and managerial skills of a Crew Chief
  • Maintain a 45% billable rate
  • Responds to call outs and after hour emergencies.
  • Ensures that all SOPs, DOT, OSHA and other requirements are followed.
  • Operates vehicles & special equipment including forklift, backhoe, amphibious vehicle, vactor, probing rod, motor vehicle, portable generators, pumps, chain saws, chop saws, sewer cleaning machine, etc.
  • Installs, repairs, and problem solve in distribution systems (water and sewer) in both team and individual environments
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

_ Education/Experience_:
High School Diploma or GED. Previous supervisory experience preferred.


_ Licenses/Certifications_:
Valid Driver's License and maintains insurable driving record
- (Class A CDL required in order to drive combination rig of truck, trailer & backhoe within six (6) months)._


_ Technical_:
Basic knowledge with Microsoft Office, internet, phone systems, computers, OSHA requirements, DOT regulations, backhoe operations and distributions systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to:

frequently lift pounds; load, unload & move large equipment/tools; access confined spaces; continuously walk and climb stairs and ladders.
