Job summary

The technician III armaments and munitions technician will ensure all armaments testing assignments are completed including those not completely standardized or prescribed performs technical work in support of armaments and munitions requiring ability to select adapt established methods procedures techniques relative to testing weapon systems accessories ammunition mine countermine systems mortars recoilless rifles non-lethal systems etc performs standard non-standard tasks related test setup execution teardown item disposition range maintenance facility operation independently extracts information field notes manuals test plans research other sources accomplish assigned tasks operates sets up weapon firing maintenance operator level ammunition inspection assembly construction setup targets target stands fragmentation arenas witness packs installs basic instrumentation test items targets operates maintains specialized facility equipment mounts muzzle breech scopes sights quadrants pressure gauges survey equipment rigging weapon firing mechanisms fragmentation collection cleaning characterization equipment accountability systems transports equipment stowage ammunition site disassembles demilitarizes targets collects data ballistics instrumentation video scoring velocity measurement flash x-ray records procedures data reviews accuracy trends procedure improvements

Qualifications
