Description
As a tool mechanic at Tishomingo, I am responsible for the complete repair and maintenance of tools. I assemble complex tools, test their function, and release them for production. Each morning, I check a list to see which tools need to be repaired or overhauled.

A common issue is dull edges on the stamps, causing them to not cut the sheets properly, similar to a dull pair of scissors.

I use a surface grinding machine to sharpen the stamp, replace it with a new sheet, and reassemble it into the tool.

Recently, I received information that the finished parts were not falling into the designated containers due to a deformed chute.

My skills were needed to fix this issue.

As an apprentice tool mechanic, your tasks will include learning how to manufacture, repair, and maintain stamping, forming, and hot forming tools.

You will also be responsible for assembling and testing tools, creating replacement parts, and learning about technical and operational communication.

During your apprenticeship, you will rotate through our training workshop and toolmaking departments. You will have the opportunity to take on exciting and challenging tasks, and benefit from training and courses.

To be successful in this role, you should have a high school diploma, be a team player, have a strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail, be able to work independently, and have technical and manual skills.

A logical mindset, as well as an interest in math and physics, will also be beneficial.
