SUMMARY


This position provides program coordination and administrative assistance for strategic communication work related to the CICW house of brands, initiatives, and events, including marketing and social media engagement and team-based projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Coordinate, communicate, and provide program and logístical support for the Strategic Communication team, which includes coordinating processes for CICW on-line content (articles, stories, conversations), website updates, social media/marketing initiatives, digital marketing and print ads, with attention to a) editorial detail and brand guide requirements, b) hospitality toward ecumenical guest contributors, authors, teachers, c) continuous improvement in engaging emerging platforms, d) ability to work across CICW's house of brands and with different brand managers or teams.

Participate and contribute to the work of the Strategic Communication team, and as assigned to support other brands/teams (such as Reformed Worship, Vital Worship Vital Preaching teams).

Serve as backup for central office team administrative duties as needed.

Provide regular brief updates on project work and completed tasks.

Proactively propose approaches to CICW work processes that will strengthen our cross-cultural and faithful anti-racism competencies.

Serve as participant in activities related to the whole CICW staff:
Participate in CICW staff meetings, as well as CQ and other training opportunities. Pitch in as needed to help with CICW events. Participate in the worship life of Calvin University, as available.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee student staff in a variety of office projects and tasks. Be prepared to follow-up with students on tasks, especially if the tasks need correcting.


QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


COMMUNICATION SKILLS


The position requires the ability to employ excellent communication skills and tact, as we engage with a broad, ecumenical audience.

Requires frequent communication with office staff to manage the flow and pacing of work. Excellent attention to proofread correspondence for spelling, grammar, and content errors. The position may require handling some confidential information.


COMPLEXITY
The position requires the ability to carry out detailed written/oral instructions. Deals with standardized situations involving occasional variables. Works in a busy office environment, often with multiple projects at once.


ACCOUNTABILITY


The position follows practices or routines that are established by others and/or provides support to employees within the same department.

DECISION MAKING/JUDGMENT

This position occasionally requires independent judgment to complete tasks. Most of the responsibilities are performed in accordance with existing procedures and instructions.

The position requires the ability to work well with others, especially on teams and in collaborative ways. Deals with items of a routine nature with frequent supervision. Participants address common issues and present information beneficial and routine to resolving problems.
