Position Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and knowledgeable Quality Control (QC) Technician to join our cultivation team.
The QC Technician will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and consistency in our cannabis flower production.
This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of cultivation processes, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect Cannabis Flowers:
Conduct thorough inspections of cannabis flowers at various stages of cultivation to ensure they meet quality standards.
Deficiency Identification:
Look for deficiencies in the flower, identifying issues such as pests, mold, nutrient deficiencies, and other quality-related problems.
Quality Sorting:
Sort through varying degrees of flower quality, categorizing them based on established quality metrics.
Monitor Growing Conditions:
Work closely with the cultivation team to monitor and optimize growing conditions, including light, temperature, humidity, and nutrient levels.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, tests, and cultivation conditions. Ensure all documentation is compliant with regulatory requirements.
Compliance:
Ensure that all cultivation processes adhere to local, state, and federal regulations. Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry best practices.
Issue Identification and Resolution:
Identify any quality issues or deviations from standards. Work with the cultivation team to address and resolve these issues promptly.
Training:
Assist in training cultivation staff on quality control procedures and best practices.
Reporting:
Prepare regular reports on quality control findings and provide recommendations for improvements to senior management.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's degree in horticulture, agriculture, biology, or a related field is a plus
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in quality control, preferably in the cannabis industry or a related agricultural field.
Knowledge:
Basic understanding of cannabis cultivation practices, plant biology, and relevant regulations.
Skills:
Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication abilities.
Certifications:
Quality control certification or relevant professional training is a plus.
Compliance:
Familiarity with cannabis industry regulations and standards.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and inspect plants for extended periods.
Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions within cultivation facilities.
