Duties:


  • Works as a member of a team performing guest room maintenance involving a variety of trades evaluation at the grade 7 level. Assignments include carpentry, electrical, painting, and plumbing.
  • Laborer loads heavy boxes, bulky supplies and materials to and from trucks, dollies, etc.; moves heavy boxes/cartons by hand or dolly; opens crates and boxes using crowbar; moves and arranges furniture.


  • Vehicle Operation

  • May be required to drive vehicles up to and including 5ton truck to move furniture, etc. to various buildings on the property.
  • Must have working knowledge of woodworking techniques and basic shop mathematics. Must be skilled in use and operation of common hand and power tools and measuring devices of the carpentry and painting trades to perform a variety of tasks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must maintain a current driver's license while in this job.

Qualifications:


  • Ability to communicate in English at a level to assure the duties described can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner.
  • Demonstrated skills in successfully operating standard tools
  • Must have experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job.

Highly Preferred Applicants will possess Electrical and/or Plumbing Certifications.

Experience must be reflected on resume to receive credit.

PCS Costs

  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.

FWS Allowances and Differentials

  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
  • Regular fulltime, regular parttime (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled nonovertime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled nonovertime hours of work occur between the hours of

  • Incentives will not be paid.

Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances

  • Nonforeign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
