Job Summary:

Responsibilities:


  • Develop and execute communication plans to support organizational goals and objectives
  • Create and edit content for various communication channels, including press releases, website, social media, and marketing materials
  • Conduct research to gather information and stay updated on industry trends and best practices
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand voice across all communications
  • Build relationships with media outlets and manage media relations activities
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating events, such as press conferences or promotional activities
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication campaigns and adjust strategies as needed
  • Provide support in crisis communication situations

Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing successful communication strategies
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge of media relations practices and experience in building relationships with journalists
  • Proficient in using various communication tools and platforms
  • Ability to conduct research and analyze data to inform communication strategies
  • Familiarity with AP style guidelines is preferred

Education, Skills, and Experience

  • BA in Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience
  • Experience with a nonprofit, healthcare, education, accrediting, or regulatory organization preferred
  • Proficient in social media, WordPress website content management and HTML coding
  • Experience with SEO and Google Analytics
  • Basic graphic design skills, including preparing graphics for digital platforms; Photoshop experience and photography skills a plus
  • Video planning and production
  • Survey management skills a plus
  • Proven ability to write and edit articles and reports for digital platforms and print
  • Ability to translate complex, nuanced issues into clear, compelling messages
  • Experience copyediting and proofreading; familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Professional, including Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problemsolving skills and a proactive approach to finding solutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills; values a demanding, teamfocused environment
  • Flexible, adaptable, highly organized, detail oriented; demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and function under deadline pressure
  • Ability to engage with multiple audiences, including highly educated healthcare practitioners, journalists with lay publications, and the public

Pay:
$52, $63,690.71 per year
