Our CNC Machinist Apprentice program is a combination of classroom training at Grand Rapids Community College's Applied Technology Center along with working alongside a skilled CNC Machinist.

Will attend school at the Grand Rapids Community College's Advanced Technology center every Friday from 7am-3:30pm.

After completing 728 hours of classroom time will obtain certificate in Machine Tool & Technology.


Once completed 8,000 hours of on-the-job training will obtain Department of Labor Machinist Journeyman's card with 27 articulated credits towards an associate degree in manufacturing.

If individuals would like to continue their college education 100% paid up front educational assistance.


CNC Machinist Apprentice will be responsible for setting up and running CNC equipment to produce parts that meet precise specifications for the automotive, medical, electrical industry.


CNC Machinist Apprentice Responsibilities:

  • Operate manual and automated machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.
  • Maintain and repair machine tools and equipment.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine the specific operation to be performed.
  • Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
  • Set up and adjust machines, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders.

Pay:
$ $17.00 per hour
