Overview of the Product Owner:

The Product Owner bridges the gap between customer needs, technical possibilities, and business objectives, ensuring that our products not only solve real-world problems but also exceed market expectations in terms of usability, security, and compliance. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to maintaining a deep understanding of the industry's evolving landscape, including regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies, to guide our product development towards sustainable success. As the liaison between the product management and development teams, the Product Owner, ensures the team's work aligns with the product vision and business goals by prioritizing and refining the product backlog to ensure development efforts meet customer needs and market demands. This is a hybrid position and we are looking for this person to come into our Cary, NC office 3 times a week.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Product Owner:

Define user stories and acceptance criteria, prioritize the product backlog, and plan sprints in collaboration with the development team.
Serve as the primary point of contact for the development team for clarifications about product features and requirements.
Work closely with Product Managers to understand and communicate product vision and strategy to the development team.
Review product increments, ensuring they meet the defined acceptance criteria and overall product goals.
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that track product performance against key metrics. Analyze variances and trends to recommend actions.
Facilitate agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for product differentiation and market leadership. Provide a technical perspective on how these changes impact product strategy.

Skills and Experience of the Product Owner:

3+ years of experience in a technical analysis or product role, experience within the FinTech or financial services industry is highly preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Strong understanding of agile methodologies and principles.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
