- The role of a Collections Specialist involves making collection calls and sending correspondence in a fast-paced, goal-oriented collections department.
- Handling customer service inquiries related to collections, processing customer refunds, reviewing account adjustments, resolving client discrepancies, and handling small balance write-offs.
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts, which includes customer calls, account adjustments, processing credit memos, and customer reconciliations.
- Accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts and supporting the Accounts Receivable Department by performing necessary tasks and duties.
- Collaborating with sales and senior management when needed to expedite the collection process.
- Effective communication and timely follow-up with the sales department regarding customer accounts.
- Building and maintaining productive relationships with dealers and sales representatives.
- Providing weekly and monthly reports to the direct supervisor.
- Sending out monthly delinquency notices.
- Processing monthly credit memos and preparing relevant reports.
- Handling a high volume of phone calls to delinquent customers.
- Managing customers on the shutdown report and resolving disputes related to outstanding balances.
- Delivering exceptional customer service to dealers and sales representatives.
- Interfacing with internal and external customers.
- Participating in team planning meetings and meeting defined department goals and activity metrics.
- 3-5 years of experience in High Volume corporate Collections.
- Knowledge of Billing and Collections procedures.
- Experience with Accounts Receivable is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and goal-oriented mindset.
- Experience with QuickBooks is advantageous.
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
