JOB TITLE:
Admissions Specialist
REPORTS TO:
Operations
SCHEDULE:
Sunday-Thursday 8:30 - 5:00pm
PRIMARY ADMISSIONS RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct phone assessment to assure patient meets the criteria for appropriate level of care.
- Maintain accuracy of bed boards.
- Maintain all admission and denial logbooks.
- Oversight of incoming referrals from other agencies.
- Maintains accurate census at all times.
- Ensure that all calls are answered, calls are being returned and provide exceptional customer service for all patients, their families, and other agencies.
- Cross training to assist the intake department.
General Description:
To support and facilitate a team approach at Gavin Quincy, it is the expectation of all Gavin Foundation, Inc. staff to work together to meet the needs of the patients we serve.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
DESIRED SKILLS
- Working knowledge of 12 Step Programs.
- Must be a team player and work in a challenging environment.
- Knowledge of laws governing confidentiality and rules of ethical behavior.
- Basic knowledge of medications. (medical, psych, other)
- Knowledge of or desire to learn Motivational Interviewing skills.
- CPR certification and Nasal Narcan training
