OSI Optoelectronics is seeking a Facilities Assistant to assist in maintaining daily operations of the physical facility and ensuring that the facility is safe and functional.

This position supports the maintenance mechanics and facilities staff by performing "handyman" maintenance duties such as furniture moves, simple electrical projects, spot painting and/or cleaning, light construction and/or exterior cleanup.

This position works with outside contractors on building and equipment repairs and may operate site equipment as needed, using hand and power tools as necessary.


Responsibilities:


  • Supports the facilities team with administration of general maintenance, safety compliance, and facility vendors.
  • Participates in the execution of facility projects and general everyday tasks.
  • Liasing with building management, contractors, and various other vendors for any facility issues, improvements, coffee services, supplies catering, etc.
  • Provides support for all construction buildouts and location moves.
  • Provides support for afterhours facility tasks as needed.
  • Ensures that the facility and grounds cleanliness are maintained.
  • Supports onsite and offsite employee events including set up and break down.
  • Set up and build of workstations (chairs, tables, racks, ergo assist devices, deliver water, etc.).
  • Facilitate employee workspace setup, including assembly and moving of furniture, as needed.
  • Performs preventative/needed maintenance on various nontechnical items.
  • Assists with various department projects, trainings, and other productionrelated requirements.
  • Conducts daily inspections of the premises and equipment to proactively identify and address issues promptly.
  • All other duties and projects as assigned by management.

  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent desired.
  • Exposure to facilities, manufacturing, and/or maintenance team support general duties preferred.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs; be able to push, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders; work from heights, and work in small crawl spaces.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Good communication skills.
