Overview:
- Seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our Operating Room team in Minneapolis, MN.
- Assist in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room and passing instruments to surgeons.
- Play a vital role in supporting the surgical team and maintaining efficiency.
- Opportunity to work with a variety of cases including general, dental, orthopedics, and more.
Schedule:
- Position: 0.5 FTE, 8-hour shifts, primarily day shift with occasional evening/night shifts.
- Weekend rotation of one weekend per month.
Benefits:
- Not eligible for benefits.
About our OR at UMMC East Bank:
- East Bank Campus is a teaching hospital with 24 newly renovated Operating Rooms.
- Performing an average of 60 cases daily.
- Equipped with innovative surgical suites for adult patients.
- Seeking team members who are open to challenges and willing to learn.
Responsibilities:
- Supplying instruments and maintaining aseptic technique during procedures.
- Ensuring accurate specimen handling and counting of supplies.
- Modifying interventions based on population served.
- Anticipating surgeon's needs and taking appropriate action in emergencies.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Military Surgical Assistant, LPN Surgical Assistant (MN license), or Surgical Technologist training.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred:
- Graduated from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
- AST certification or certification eligible at hire.
- 1 to 3 years of surgical tech experience.
Other Skills:
- Knowledge of developmental needs and age-appropriate interventions.
Desired Skills:
- Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment.
