NMR Spectroscopist/Structure Elucidation Scientist


An opening is available for a Reaction Monitoring Flow NMR Scientist in the Structure Elucidation Group, Pharmaceutical Sciences Small Molecule Division of Pfizer Worldwide Research and Development in Groton, CT.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Reaction monitoring, developing kinetics models, quantification, elucidate structures and solve scientific questions for small molecules of pharmaceutical interest using multidimensional liquids NMR. The individual will be expected to provide strong technical and strategic input and to ensure efficient and timely execution of deliverables. Investigate and implement novel NMR experiments and technologies.- Write technical documents.- Communicate routinely with chemists within Small Molecule Pharmaceutical Sciences as well as other divisions throughout Pfizer globally.- Provide open access NMR support for over 100 chemists and engineers.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSPREFERRED QUALIIFICATIONS- Experience in structural elucidation of small molecules using solution NMR.- Knowledge of Bruker and Varian NMR systems.- Pharmaceutical industry experience desirable.- Proven track record of technology implementation as demonstrated by publication/presentation records.- Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to carry out independent research are required.- Strong interest and motivation to learn new technologies and concepts is expected.- Experience with NMR processing software (Topspin, Mnova, ACD).- Experience with chromatography, mass spectrometry, and molecular modeling is beneficial.
