The Assistant Vice President for Admission: School of Graduate and Professional Studies (SGPS) reports to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and directs recruitment of U.S and international adults to both undergraduate online and graduate programs.

The College has a large enrollment of international graduate students in management and computer information master's programs. It offers instruction in-person, online, and in hybrid formats, including offerings for experienced executives.

Graduate offerings include education at the master's and doctoral levels, an MFA in Creative Writing, and a master's in clinical Mental Health Counseling, among others.

The undergraduate online program offers bachelor's level training in numerous fields, including international relations, homeland security, cybersecurity, and several others.

SGPS operates on a 12-month calendar, with semesters beginning every seven weeks. The AVP oversees a staff of 12 including an associate director, an assistant director, counselors, and an operations coordinator.
Essential Duties Summary

  • In consultation with the President, Vice President, and the College's Enrollment Management Committee, examines trends and related information to guide recruitment efforts.
  • Recommends annual new student goals for multiple graduate and undergraduate (online) programs.
  • In coordination with the Vice President of Marketing and Communication, develops a recruitment and marketing plan to meet new student goals.
  • Works directly with the Marketing and Communications department on the development of advertising and promotional campaigns and develops a 12month recruitment communication plan.
  • Collaborates closely with the Deans, program directors, and other campus offices and officials in executing the plan.
  • Provides regular reports on all aspects of the recruiting effort, including weekly reports on progress to goal, student characteristics.
  • Works closely with key College systems (CRM, Banner) to assure engagement of potential students and provide effective customer service throughout the recruitment process.

Required Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred.

Experience

  • Five to seven years of admission and/or enrollment management experience in higher education, including recruiting for programs delivered online. Experience with international students would be a plus.
  • Successful track record of meeting goals for student recruitment and experience in managing recruitment in a competitive environment and for programs delivered in multiple modalities
  • Three to five years of supervising recruiters and managing to enrollment goals
  • Successful trackrecord in managing enrollment using digital advertising, SEO, and lead generation tools.
  • Advanced user of CRM systems and other technology platforms in college student recruitment and in the management of recruitment staff to meet goals.
  • Production and distribution of communication messages and material to targeted audiences
  • Managing, reporting, and analyzing data from the prospect stage to enrollment

  • Manage and stay within the departmental budget

  • Ability to build relationships and cooperate with internal and external groups, including executives
  • Excellent spoken and written communication and presentation skills delivered with a onfident, persuasive, and inclusive style
  • Ability to direct, monitor, evaluate, and motivate staff
