As a 140-year-old high-end custom furniture and curtain workroom, we work with some of the best designers and architects in the country, and you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting and challenging projects.

We are a fast-growing company, and our growth has necessitated adding a new Inventory Associate to our team.


INVENTORY ASSOCIATE:


The Inventory Associate is also responsible for regularly updating stock lists of workroom supplies for delivery to the Production Managers to place supply orders.

Responsibilities include ensuring lists are delivered promptly and error-free, stocking supplies in their appropriate places once received, and overseeing pickups and deliveries of new and/or excess stock.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


  • Receive verified materials and transport them to and from inprocess inventory, the workroom, and the warehouse as needed
  • Track transfers to and from warehouse using our inventory system and keeping an accurate inventory of warehouse and stock locations using Excelbased trackers
  • Identify damages and other shortcomings in received goods and bringing to the attention of the President and Project Managers
  • Checking fabric and trim yardages to track remnant inventory accurately
  • Overseeing regular clearouts of warehouse and stock locations while coordinating with President and Project Managers
  • Prepares fabric and trim return shipments for client using appropriate packaging and documentation, in conjunction with President and Project Managers
  • Follows rules for safe operation with various dolleys, factory property, and material being transported or handled

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), at a minimum
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.) is required
  • Experience working with a similar furniture manufacturer, upholstery vendor, or fabric supplier is a plus
  • Ability to handle fabric rolls and boxes of various sizes, moving into and out of storage
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and product information books
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization
  • Analysis skills for reporting and communicating with others
  • Material handling experience
  • Understanding of manufacturing systems and the flow of materials

WORK ENVIRONMENT:


We operate in a combined office, workroom and warehouse where goods are routinely transferred between the various areas on a regular basis, depending on their status.
