Position Summary:

The Event Manager delivers amazing event experiences from office meetings, galas, education events to large tradeshows. The position requires outrageous customer service assisting team members and event entertainment, exhibitors and attendees. Strong general administrative background and computing skills to review, track, and analyze budgets, and maintain records and databases.

They will like a changing work plan, be flexible to prioritize and handle multiple tasks, manage deadlines, without much direction.

They must be a creative self-starter, highly organized with the ability to work individually and collaboratively. They will communicate a continuous improvement and growth mindset.

They must be a dynamic individual who can bring high energy and a positive attitude to complement our vibrant team culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Understand the objectives and goals of the events, requirements, timing and develops/maintains event budgets.
  • Coordinate and manage exhibit booth requirements and sales.
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external meetings and events.
  • Manages onsite production of the event including set up and take down as needed.
  • Responsible for coordinating logistics for all events.
  • Selects sites, negotiate rates, and execute contracts
  • Develop/maintain the master schedule for events, including detailed internal and external checklists, scripts, and timelines which shall include all budgetary restraints, deliverables, expectations and tasks associated with each event function.
  • Responsible for registrations, exhibitor materials, databases, monitor and generate event reports, POS, vendor partner communication and general supplies.
  • Venue selection, contract review, negotiations, F&B specification, BEO review.
  • AV requirements, entertainment/speakers, exposition services, accommodations, travel and logistics.
  • Development and implementation of sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities.
  • Assist in managing content on websites (HTML knowledge not required), social media platforms and via Constant Contact mass messaging.
  • Collaborates with NARI Milwaukee team on mailings, copies, projects and daily support needs.
  • Serve as a liaison to multiple committees with NARI Milwaukee.
  • Be an active part of the team offering ideas for efficiency and improved services, processes and communication of events and marketing.
  • Handles confidential or sensitive information and documents.
  • Additional projects and tasks as needed or assigned.
  • Creates extraordinary customer experiences by delivering exceptional service to NARI members and consumers.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • College degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or Hospitality Management preferred or minimum 2 years' experience in meetingrelated field: reservations, registration, and planning.
  • Aptitude for pulling, organizing and maintaining data for analysis and strategy.
  • Organizational, project and time management skills with the ability to shift priorities and deal with changing demands and handle different stages of multiple meetings simultaneously in a calm, effective manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written to interact with staff at all levels with mutual respect; demonstrated ability to handle complaints and problems in a congenial, efficient, serviceoriented manner
  • Must be selfmotivated, able to work independently with strong attention to details.
  • High Emotional Intelligence
  • Verbal, written and interpersonal skills are essential to connect with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to oversee volunteer lead teams.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook and virtual meeting software such as Zoom and experience in registration and meetings
