    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Monitoring agency network, servers, and business systems (both physical and virtual) to identify and resolve critical issues affecting network and system connectivity and continuity of operations.
    • Monitoring all communications connectivity and devices terminating communications links to guarantee uninterrupted communications in accordance with service level agreements.
    • Continuous monitoring, event detection and escalation, risk mitigation, and incident avoidance to ensure the security and stability of the entire agency infrastructure.
    • Managing the operation of the IP switched/routed LAN, monitoring LAN device security logs, identifying potential security violations, and addressing device configuration problems.
    • Monitoring and tracking the performance and incidents of hosted server and router hardware regularly, documenting and reporting relevant trends, and recommending hardware upgrades as needed to address performance patterns.
    • Proactively monitoring for a high availability configuration for critical applications and production servers supporting continued operation in the event of data center loss.

    Qualifications Basic Qualification:

    • High School level and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
    • Experience in monitoring network and system devices including servers, routers, and switches.
    • Familiarity with ticket management systems like ServiceNow or Remedy.
    • Experience working in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 customer support operations role like a Service Desk, Network, or Systems Operations Center.
    • Ability to provide 24x7x365 Tier-2 network or system monitoring services and willingness to work after hours or weekends.
    • Strong documentation and communication skills.
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

    Preferred Qualification:

    • Active Secret Security Clearance.
    • Highly self-motivated and adaptable to learning and understanding new technologies.
