Are you looking for part-time weekend and evening shifts as a dog walker? Ideally looking for someone who already has a part/full time position and wants extra spending cash.

Shifts can consist of one or more visits per day with the possibility of split shifts.

Lil Miss Pets is looking for an experienced, reliable, trustworthy and motivated Dog Walker in the San Diego area. Service area will mostly be in La Jolla (UTC), Sorrento Valley, and Mira Mesa.

The position will vary in hours week to week (up to 10-15 hours on most weeks). Availability on holidays, weekends, weekdays, day shift, evenings. The pay is $20 an hour.

Although there is playtime with the pets, the position requires intensive physical work such as walking in the heat (rain or shine) during your shifts, physically able to handle larger dogs, and the ability to walk up to 5 to 10 miles a day.

Must be willing to travel to locations sometimes up to 20 minutes and be comfortable outdoors in any weather condition.

It can be a rewarding job, but it can also be challenging at times while servicing one pet after another within a specific set timeframe.

Fluency in English is required since you will interact with pet owners and transcribe write-ups to pet parents after each visit.

We provide the highest level of care, so we are looking for someone who can deliver exceptional pet care services to our clients.

Amazing time-management skills are needed to make appointments on time.


Responsibilities:

One or multiple dogs to walk per half-hour session.

During walks, pick up and throw away pet waste.

After walks, dog owners might request that you feed the dog as needed, or play with them a bit and check the water supply to ensure that the dog's basic needs are met.

Pet Check-ins: dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs.

Check-in duties can include: litter box scooping, feeding, refresh water, play time, cuddles, light sweeping, cleaning up after pet vomit or pee, collecting mail or packages, send updates and pictures to owners.

Job Requirements:

Genuine love and affection for all animals.

Pass a background check.

Must be at least 18 years old with a high school degree

You should have knowledge of dog behavior. Excellent customer service skills, and respect for the privacy of pet owners are also necessary.

Familiar with the care of other types of pets such as cats, rabbits, and gerbils.

You may have to go through regular pet care training and pass the Lil Miss Pets walker assessment test.

Physically able to walk and handle ALL size dogs, large and small.

Own a smartphone with a camera to leave client updates.

Must have a reliable vehicle, insurance and a valid driver's license.

Willing to work outside in all temperatures and various weather conditions.
