Events Sales Manager
You will be responsible for selling top-tier corporate and social events by attending to inbound leads as well as fostering your own book of external leads and new clients

This role is responsible for promoting and selling services through participation in various events, trade shows, conferences, and exhibitions. This role involves engaging with potential customers face-to-face, showcasing the company's offerings, and building lasting relationships. The primary goal is to drive sales growth and contribute to the company's revenue targets.


You will be responsible for all event sales admin work including: creating BEO's, diagrams, agreements, up-selling, maintaining up-to-date event master calendar, and reporting.

This position is paid at base salary + commission based on events.


Responsibilities:


  • Event Participation: Plan, coordinate, and execute the company's participation in various outside sales events, trade shows, and exhibitions.
  • Engage Prospects: Initiate conversations with event attendees, answer questions, and provide detailed information about services to create interest and generate leads. Collect contact information from interested attendees, qualify leads, and enter relevant data into the software system.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and nurture relationships with potential customers, focusing on understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Sales Pitch: Deliver persuasive sales pitches to effectively communicate the value and benefits of services, highlighting unique selling points.
  • Sales Negotiation: Initiate and conduct negotiations with potential customers, addressing concerns and objections while positioning the company's offerings as optimal solutions.
  • Follow-Up: Reach out to leads after the event, providing additional information, addressing inquiries, and nurturing relationships to close deals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to align messaging, strategies, and promotional materials for events.
  • Developing an action plan to be executed on a weekly basis with emphasis on target markets for outreach and increasing revenue.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and customer preferences to adapt sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Reporting: Provide timely and accurate reports on event performance, lead generation, and sales outcomes to ownership.
  • Travel: This role may require travel to various events, trade shows, and exhibitions, both locally and regionally.
  • Prepare budgets and ensure adherence
  • Coordinate BEO details with the operations team

  • Concierge and local business visits to push base business and current promotions
  • Key Influencer solicitation and development including attending networking events
  • Promptly respond to all event leads within required response times
  • Use company Event Management software (Tripleseat) to communicate with prospects and customers and track performance; maintain all settings, templates, and documents in Tripleseat software
  • Work with PR team to coordinate press events and ensure that messaging is timed and released to effectively promote events
  • Coordinate with webmaster to update the web site, phones, and third party web sites with ongoing event information
  • Works closely with the Marketing Team to produce flyers for the events, schedule social posts and generate event listings on 3rd party sites

Skills:


  • At least 3 years of experience in event sales and hospitality
  • Experience with Tripleseat and OpenTable
  • Knowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques for event management
  • Computer savvy; proficient in MS Office
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation ability
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • A knack for problemsolving
  • Customerservice orientation
  • A team player with leadership skills
  • Available to work nights and weekends per business needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven track record in generating event or catering sales for a hospitality, food and beverage, or traditional restaurant venue
  • The time management skills and ability to manage a large number of inbound and outbound sales initiatives on a daily basis
  • Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation abilities.
  • Selfmotivated and goaloriented with the ability to work independently.
  • BSc/BA in PR, marketing, hospitality management, or related field is preferred
