The Max Planck Digital Library (MPDL) in Munich is a central institution of the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science (MPG) and supports scientists in currently 84 institutes and research facilities in Germany and abroad.

The MPDL Communications & Press group is responsible for internal and external communication of MPDL activities. This is done through various marketing campaigns, roadshows, websites, social media channels, and other events. In addition, the Communications team develops marketing strategies for various MPDL tools and services and organizes cross-cutting events.


For MPDL Communications & Press, we are currently looking for a
Business Development Specialist (m/f/d) with a focus on marketing.


Your tasks

  • Independent conception and implementation of CRM and marketing activities for MPDL and its services & tools
  • Planning and leading new, innovative MPDL outreach activities
  • Central role in the development and implementation of gotomarket and stakeholder communication activities
  • Responsibility for the conception and implementation of marketing campaigns and roadshows, as well as handson sessions at various Max Planck institutes
  • Pre and postevent communication of planning, needs assessment, and outreach activities to various communities within the MPG
  • Development of communication strategies and interaction formats to position MPDL as an innovator in cooperation with all areas
  • Observation of international market developments, innovations, and trends with advisory function in strategic
