Since 1982, Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region has served more than 23,000 families facing serious childhood health challenges in our community.

Through programs including the Albany Ronald McDonald House, the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Albany Medical Center, and the Ronald McDonald Family Retreat at Krantz Cottage, RMHC provides essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare.

Our dedicated staff and volunteers help families with sick children stay close to each other and the care they need, when they need it most.


Evening (GSS) is responsible for providing afternoon and evening staff coverage for the Albany Ronald McDonald House and ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region (RMHC-CR).

Primary functions include overseeing House operations and working with volunteers to register incoming guests and provide general support for guest families.

Regularly scheduled shifts are
from 4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid NY driver's license.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

Critical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work with diverse families of varied socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds
  • Ability to work with diverse volunteers and contributors
  • Proficiency working with computers and using programs such as Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable engaging with individuals and small groups
  • Experience organizing group activities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively
  • Excellent timemanagement, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
