REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- One to two years nonprofit experience desired. Entry level development opportunity.
- Well organized, self-starter. Working knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, recording meeting minutes. Strong attention to detail is equally important.
- Outstanding demonstrable technical skills and proficiency of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Drive. Literate on both PC and MAC Computer operations.
- Excellent writing skills
- Ability to read and interpret financial information
- Skill in prioritizing assignments with competing deadlines and requirements.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, networking and presentation skills, including a high level of confidentiality combined with flexibility, resourcefulness and efficiency.
- Desire to lend imagination and creative thinking in solving challenges as part of dynamic team of professionals
- In possession of a California Drivers License that is current, and an acceptable driving record to our insurer.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to serve as a mandated reporter.
JOB DUTIES:
- Assist and support the Executive Director in the development, management and execution of timelines for assigned fundraising events and major gift work/individual solicitations
- Help developfrom Discovery to Stewardshipcorporate, community and individual prospects for the organization's fundraising priorities.
- Coordinate event production, beginning with the development of sponsorship solicitations, working with the volunteer committee on logistics, and culminating in the execution of successful events that result in strong participation and net earnings.
Sponsorship Solicitation, Gift Processing & Donor Recognition
- Record, track and acknowledge donations and registrations, with special attention to the development of small to midlevel corporate donors
- Prepare and meet deadlines for proposals and solicitations
- Opportunity to devise, manage, and help implement tailored and unique donor recognition activities beyond gift recognition letter.
- Gather pertinent information for use in reporting to donors, staff members, members of the community and members of the Board of Directors.
- Assist the Bookkeeper in reconciling event overview, preparing reports and invoicing receivables.
- Represent and promote CAREGIVERS at community and networking events
- Support office activities and program development as needed.
- Other related duties as assigned.
