Position Overview:


Riverside Research Institute (RRI) is seeking commercial business and technology leaders with experience in commercial business development, business analytics, strategic planning, executive leadership within the venture-backed technology community.

Specific industries of interest include aerospace and remote sensing, AI and ML, autonomous systems, quantum computing, health and human-performance, among others.

This position is based in Mountain View, CA (alternate locations:
Austin, TX; Boston, MA; Washington DC; Chicago, IL).


Responsibilities:


  • Integrate into and add value to ongoing business development, marketing, strategy development, and engagement activities
  • Conduct market research and engages with commercial sector to support project curation, due diligence, and execution
  • Contribute (as needed) to contracting activities, processes, and documentation standards in support of Government Directors and program/project managers
  • Identify and evaluate commercial solutions for business and technical viability and strategic impact.
  • Cultivate commercial partners for upcoming and ongoing solicitations and manage relationships.
  • Collect and analyze external market data to provide benchmarks for comparison purposes
  • Present reports to management for use in decision making and strategic planning
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of private sector experience in business development, marketing, sales, investment and goto market strategies
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product, project, program management in commercial technology industry
  • Master's degree in business, policy, or engineering field
  • Certification(s) in relevant technical and/or managementrelated fields desired
  • Experience and proven ability to analyze industry technology landscapes and roadmaps, synthesize and distill information to inform strategic direction of a business, portfolio, or account
  • Demonstrated understanding of startup company culture and operations.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and interact with DoD/USG partners, commercial developers, venture capital and commercial executives, and other seniorlevel management
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; the ability to present complex matters clearly and simply; effective organizational skills; the ability to be proactive, take initiative and follow through
  • Excellent interpersonal and clienthandling skills
  • Proficient computer skills, Google Suite a plus
  • High level of responsibility, ownership and accountability
  • Ability to obtain and maintain up to TS/SCI clearance. Active TS clearance preferred.
