Summary
The Freight Brokerage Account Manager will be responsible for operating and supporting a portfolio of new and existing customers through the development of transportation providers.
Directly engage with Account Executives, Shipment Management Associates (SMA) and Business Development Managers as needed to build a network of service providers that allows them the ability to foster an effective customer relationship.
Essential Functions
- Develop relationships with transportation providers to maximize penetration of customer freight portfolio through soliciting capacity
- Leads small group of SMA's as a mentor. Supports all parties with carrier related issues as needed. Staffing performance management and development of SMAs to ensure established performance goals within the team
- Tender accept/reject loads, creates loads, sets appointments, dispatches, tracks and traces loads, root cause problem solves issues, and resolves/communicates to carrier and/or customer as appropriate
- Negotiate rates with transportation providers to ensure that margins are achieved for commission targets and account goals
- Manage daytoday planning and scheduling of coverage for loads to ensure proper all customer's needs are met in the agreed upon time period
Additional Responsibilities
- Continuous improvement in all segments of the business
- Schedules and dispatches while ensuring compliance of Federal, State, and Local regulations. Responsible for timely updating of load statuses to the TMS.
- Maintain a positive employee related climate and maintain a customer satisfaction index at a World Class Level while having availability 24/7/365 for responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- H.S. diploma/GED required H.S Diploma/GED
- Bachelor's degree preferred Business, Logistics, or related field of study
- Three (3) years or more Business related experience required
- MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc) intermediate required
