Position Overview:
As an Insurance Document Associate, you will be an integral part of our client's team responsible for the efficient processing and distribution of incoming mail to support our business unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, evaluate, acknowledge, and distribute incoming mail following established procedures.
- Ensure accurate routing of mail to appropriate departments and individuals.
- Identify and resolve misdirected mail promptly.
- Officially acknowledge receipt of incoming mail as per guidelines.
- Report relevant information to underwriters and escalate issues to Team Leader or Manager when necessary.
- Assist with mail sorting, distribution, and printouts.
- Handle FedEx sorting and distribution tasks.
- Support Electronic Document Conversion activities as needed.
Specific Duties:
- Perform underwriting and claims document review and audit according to detailed procedures.
- Recognize misrouted forms and documents and route them correctly.
- Prepare documents for scanning and maintain scanning equipment.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Analyze and review autoclassified/indexed documents for errors or issues.
- Ensure electronic document images are legible and usable.
- Review and process underwriting and claims faxes efficiently.
- Scan documents accurately with a focus on image quality.
- Handle document rescans, research unidentifiable mail, and respond to inquiries.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 12 years of prior experience in mail handling or customer service.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Comfortable working in a fastpaced environment.
- Ability to work independently while following established procedures.
- Team player with excellent collaboration skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information in accordance with privacy regulations.
- Proficiency in multitasking and navigating various systems.
- Capable of lifting 1520 lbs consistently.
- Non-Registered Fingerprinted (as required).
Miscellaneous:
- Perform other duties as assigned by Team Leader or Manager.
- Adhere to privacy laws and company standards.
