In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

Responsible for defining product backlog, collaborating with internal & external stakeholders, and working closely with cross functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of the product.


Product Execution:
Strong understanding of banking services and/or government contracting. Able to write specs for major features. Able to think through and specify complex functionality. Understands the right amount of details to include in a feature specification.

Able to negotiate the implementation of current work, make the right trade-off decisions to launch products in a high quality manner.

Knows when to escalate to managers.

Able to identify and triage issues with specific features, but understand how multiple features are interrelated and catch more complex problems.

Must have experience working with engineering, legal/risk, and operations teams to break down blockers and develop effective solutions.

Customer Insights:
Comfortable working with all levels of client stakeholders autonomously to drive effective delivery. Able to define proper measurement and instrumentation for a product to analyze results post-release/launch. Works with manager to make recommendations on the right next steps for the feature. Assesses the quality of existing UX to make recommendations on how to improve user experience. Partners with managers to identify when to gather feedback from users in order to drive more effective decision-making.

Primary responsibilities include:

Working with technology and product teams to track and maintain scope of backlog features/cross-POD teams and identifying the right PI Planning Cycle to complete work.

Participates in creating documentation required for Agile ceremonies, works with other product teams to identify PI and iteration agile ceremonies.

Defines user stories, works with cross-POD teams to refine stories and has decision-making accountability. Guides decisions made in collaboration with cross functional internal and external teams.


To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
Bachelor's degree in business management or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
1-3 years of product experience, 3-5 years in a financial industry
Prior experience with US Federal program highly preferred
Prior experience with collaborating with vendors and contractors preferred
Detail oriented individual with an ability to change strategies and approaches mid-flight if needed

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees.

The base salary for this position is expected to be between $79,000 and $147,000 per year at the commencement of employment.

However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit
