DEFINITION & PURPOSE:

Under direction, performs administrative and specialized duties in developing, organizing and

implementing Substance Abuse Prevention programs. Identify and coordinate appropriate

treatment services for clinical and non-clinical substance abuse prevention and treatment

programs.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates referrals to treatment programs for Wassaja Family Services Department clients; Determines client eligibility for treatment programs;
  • Orients clients to the treatment process;
  • Establishes treatment arrangements and procedures;
  • Acts as a program resource;
  • Tracks client compliance with treatment program;
  • Assesses client satisfaction with program services.
  • Performs intake for new and existing clients;
  • Coordinates substance abuse treatment services within and outside of the Wassaja Family Services Department;
  • Coordinates placements with the Tribal Benefits Administrator as needed;
  • Participates in Aftercare planning and activities with clients, families and community;
  • Attends community meetings, provides educational activities to clients and the community pertaining to substance abuse and prevention;
  • Drives clients to treatment programs and other related activities as needed;
  • Provides after hours activities to meet the needs of the clients;
  • Maintain log and responsible for overseeing weekly reporting requirements for Tribal and Federal Substance Abuse programs, including P.L Substance Abuse funding.

SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE:


  • Knowledge of tribal, state and Federal Child Welfare and applicable protection statutes, rules, ordinances, laws, case law and policies;
  • Knowledge of availability of community and social services resources;
  • Knowledge of substance abuse treatment facilities and plans;
  • Skill in tracking and monitoring treatment services;
  • Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing word processing and database software;
  • Organizational skills and clerical abilities to effectively manage a diverse workload;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to prepare written reports;
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining confidential relationships and records;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective and cooperative working relationships with other departments of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, service providers, state and Federal agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:


1) Associates of Arts Degree or 2 years of college in Psychology, Sociology, Chemical Dependency or a related field; (2) Minimum six months experience in the area of Substance Abuse Prevention or Alcohol Treatment; (3) Current Arizona Drivers License and meet FMYN insurance standards.


PAYRATE:
$30,395.55 to $36,474.66 Per Annum (DOE)
