- Evaluate materials and develop machinery and processes to manufacture materials for use in products that must meet specialized design and performance specifications
- Develop new uses for known materials or works with metals, composite materials, ceramic, glass, plastics, polymers, semiconductors, naturally occurring materials and combination of materials or composites to create new materials that meet certain mechanical, electrical, and chemical requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 7-12 years of relevant work experience
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and independently performs a wide variety of complicated tasks
- May lead and direct the work of others
- Master's degree
- Experience with F-16, A-10, or T-38
- Active Secret clearance
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
