OVERVIEW


Responsible for providing case management and referrals to newly arrived refugees in their initial resettlement adjustment period, including generating referrals to external services and other agencies, documenting services, filing documents, and providing ongoing training.

Position may from time-to-time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May perform other duties as assigned.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides prearrival core services and welcomes refugees at the airport
  • Works with apartment complexes to secure housing for newly arrived refugees
  • Coordinates external and internal resources for newly arrived clients
  • Conducts client intakes, assesses refugee needs, and provides core services, all in timely manners
  • Refers refugees to mainstream services provided and monitors the followup
  • Develops plans and strategies with clients to attain selfsufficiency
  • Monitors and update financial records
  • Documents services, contacts, and followup
  • Maintains physical and webbased files in logical, timely, and efficient manners
  • Provides weekly update reports during department meetings
  • Provides immediate case management services to clients to ensure development of shortterm and longterm plans for housing and employment
  • Collaborates with staff and volunteers to provide referrals and services to refugees
  • May drive agency or personal vehicle on company business

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position and will be considered by the Executive Director of Human Resources.


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of experience working in migration or refugee services, and/or social work
  • Ability to relate to clients in culturally and linguistically appropriate manners
  • Familiar with needs of refugees and community services available
  • Excellent data entry skills (speed and accuracy)
  • Proven skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proven strong communication skills oral and written are clear, concise, and in an organized fashion using appropriate style, grammar, and tone
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Bilingual, or multilingual

REGULATORY

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver license, proof of insurance, and 39month motor vehicle report
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and FBI National Criminal Records History Report (employer paid)
  • Pass preemployment drug screen (incudes marijuana, regardless of recreational use laws) (employer paid)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate Degree in human services or related field
  • Additional years of directlyrelated experience
