Manager, Logistics - South Bend, United States - TD SYNNEX
Description
As the Logistics Manager, you will oversee and monitor the performance of a major function within our distribution center, which may include Shipping, Receiving, Returns, and/or Inventory Control.
You will be responsible for maintaining standards of measurement, implementing cost-reducing policies and procedures, enhancing productivity, efficiency, and ensuring high-quality work.
Additionally, you will enforce safety codes, OSHA standards, and uphold sound housekeeping practices within your department.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise the activities within one major function of the distribution center (e.g., shipping, receiving, returns, or inventory control).
- Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
- Provide written and oral instructions to associates.
- Coach and mentor associates to improve performance.
- Manage daily labor and costs, ensuring all department Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Maintain a productive team through retention, training, and development programs.
- Utilize effective communication and motivational techniques in supervising, counseling, and disciplining associates.
- Coordinate the training of new and existing associates.
- Manage the customer service aspect of the distribution center to ensure order integrity, accuracy, and timely shipment.
- Handle customer/vendor issues and problems.
- Develop and recommend enhancements to improve operational efficiency, accuracy, and customer service levels.
- Enforce safety codes, OSHA standards, and maintain sound housekeeping practices.
- Reconcile payroll and attendance records, ensuring accuracy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or relevant supervisory experience in a warehouse, distribution, cross dock, or supply chain environment preferred.
- Experience working with parcel providers and knowledge of logistics processes.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, innovate, and assertively address needs and opportunities.
- Ability to build effective working relationships and coach others in skills development.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to drive tasks to completion.
- Ability to think strategically and tactically, express ideas clearly, and convey necessary information.
- Capacity to work under stress and pressure, meet deadlines, and transport up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
