The Roland Center (formerly San Gabriel Valley Training Center) offers high-quality rehabilitation, vocational training, job placement and work support services to the developmentally disabled.

Our mission is to provide and promote opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to live, work and interact in the community and achieve their personal best.

Today, The Roland Center serves nearly 300 adults ranging from age 22 to 80 at its two center work centers.


Basic Purpose
This role will be closely working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disability.

The primary role of a Job Coach is to supervise program participants in the different work locations.

Additionally, the job coach is responsible in ensuring that participants are able to meet established goals, conform to policies of the assigned worksites, and The Roland Center policies.


Location
Location may vary depending on the need. The Roland Center currently works with different work sites where our program participants are located.

You may be assigned to one of the following locations:
Duarte, Claremont, San Bernardino, Whittier, El Monte, Azusa or City of Industry.

*May be assigned a group or individuals depending on the need


Responsibilities Include

  • Ensure participants' work habits such as: punctuality, following procedures, cooperation, initiative, and appearance are up to employer's standards
  • Ensure participants understands work tasks and can complete them accurately, with quality and at a proper work pace
  • Ensure participants shows good level of interpersonal skills with management, coworkers, and customers
  • Work with case managers to ensure that established work goals are met
  • Provide individualized training to participants in relation to the established goals
  • Provide work support related to the tasks assigned as needed and as required
  • Review monthly goals with the assigned participants and communicate progress to case manager
  • Communicate with SEP manager and case manager any information regarding individual work performance and/or concerns on timely manner
  • Utilizes last 1520 minutes of session to record observations and document progress daily
  • Communicates the attendance of each assigned participant to the case manager
  • Act as a liaison between the employer and the participant
  • Advocate to the employer the participants' needs and support required
  • Uphold and advocate for the individual rights of each participant based on ADA laws
  • Ensure individual adheres to health and safety standards per employer's requirements
  • Collect signatures from individual and work manager to verify that services were provided (for Individual Job Coach)
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required by the program manager
  • Prepares pertinent documentation and ensures compliance with deadlines
  • Reports work incidents and accidents to the program manager and ensure that participants receive necessary aid as needed
  • Review pertinent policies with individuals and ensure that these are enforced at the workplace
  • Promote positive and professional company image and demonstrate team effort
  • Ensures compliance to The Roland Center policies, protocols, and procedures
  • Manages participant information and hours on system (SETWorks)
  • Ensures accuracy of participant information and hours on system (SETWorks)
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the program manager

Other Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus but not required
  • Must be selfmotivated and can work under mínimal supervision
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Must possess basic computer skills
  • Possess solid time management skill
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must have reliable transportation with an active CA driver's license
  • Able to navigate to various job site locations as needed
  • Must be able to maintain a professional and positive demeanor
  • HIPAA Certification required or obtained within 30 days from start of employment
  • Active First Aid and CPR Certification required or obtained within 30 days from start of employment
  • Must successfully pass mandatory background check, drug test, and medical examination

Job Type:
Part-time


Pay:
$ $18.00 per hour
