Supply Chain Analyst - Fashion & Apparel
Mad Engine is seeking a Supply Chain Analyst to manage our raw materials (blank garments for screen-printing).

The role will analyze and implement strategies to optimize fill-rates (on-time / in-full), minimize the total cost of ownership, control slow moving and obsolete inventory and maintain strong working relationships with our key suppliers.


The role will be responsible for ensuring timely movement of raw materials from suppliers into Mad Engine warehouse and production facilities.

This role will report directly to the Vice President of Domestic Production & Procurement.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Participate in the development and implementation of strategic sourcing plans to optimize cost, quality, and lead times of blank garments for conversion to finished goods.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate costing as needed to establish favorable terms that meet company initiatives.
  • Oversee the purchasing process from PO to delivery, following up as needed to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
  • Generate purchasing plans for items that fall outside of planned business and communicate forecasts to correct supplier(s) to support business initiatives as needed.
  • Manage inventory levels and optimize stock replenishments to prevent both excess inventory stock onhand and out of stocks.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to foster open communication and resolve challenges in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor supplier performance, including the development of a supplier scorecard to use in regularly auditing key suppliers to address any issues with performance and work with our suppliers in implementing corrective action plans to continuously drive positive business improvements.
  • Collaborate with Sr Procurement Manager and Director of Merchandising to evaluate and manage inventory stock onhand, stock turnover rates, and coordinate inventory optimization to minimize excess inventory.
  • Collaborate with internal team members across multiple departments, including Planning, Sales, Production, Quality Control, and Inventory Control, to understand downstream business needs and practices.
  • Assess and understand market trends, industry dynamics, and capabilities offered by key suppliers to better serve our customer's needs.
  • Awareness of potential risks within the supply chain, including disruptions in logistics, raw material shortages, or geopolitical factors to develop contingency plans as needed to mitigate impact on business operations.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of relative regulatory requirements, sustainability standards, and ethical sourcing practices in the fashion and apparel industry.
  • Prepare and present reports including forecasts, performance metrics, inventory usage plan to senior and executive management to support decision making and strategies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 7 years in supply chain management, procurement, business administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing role, preferably within the fashion and apparel industry, with a track record of success in vendor management and cost optimization.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes, sourcing strategies, and procurement best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across departments, and levels within and without the organization.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment, ability to shift priorities as needed, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations, & Planning) principles

ADDITIONAL NOTES

  • Occasional travel required, including out of the country as needed (Mexico/Central America)
  • Spanish fluency, written and verbal, a plus
