REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree plus 3-4 years experience in architecting, implementing, and supporting IP-based networks in an enterprise environment. CCNA certification or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Experience with enterprise wireless and virtualized networks. Proven ability to fully manage enterprise-wide, complex network technology projects and supervise individuals. Excellent communication, administration, critical thinking, and analytical skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Architect, implement, and maintain secure, reliable, and robust network infrastructure, telecommunication system, and classroom technology resources to meet the strategic objectives and mission of District 95.

Manage projects, technical support, incident and problem escalation, and performance monitoring with regard to technology resources. Supervise and evaluate the infrastructure team.

Responsible for ensuring timely and efficient resolution of network service, telecommunications and classroom technology requests while maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES ESSENTIAL


JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Plan, manage, and oversee all aspects of the District's network infrastructure, server infrastructure, telecommunications, information and physical security systems, and classroom technology in alignment with the District's strategic objectives and mission.
  • Collaborate with Technology Departmental staff on system implementation, maintenance projects, and all on-going department initiatives.
  • Manage and supervise the Infrastructure Team, including management and prioritization of day-to-day work, projects, and tasks.
  • Design and implement of backups, redundancy, disaster recovery and business continuity objectives and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively the status and progress of projects and initiatives to stakeholders including District Administrative Team and the Board of Education.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the District to identify, evaluate, and recommend technology solutions to enterprise challenges.
Oversee and manage network support, data center operations, including but not limited to:

  • Monitoring of system stability, availability, and performance.
  • Ensuring 24x7x365 operation of internal and client systems.
  • Assist in implementing new network technologies and equipment
  • Achieve close to 100% uptime through design consistent with accepted best practices, thorough monitoring, careful and consistent change management, and immediate response to any outage.
  • Manage network vendor relationships and contracts on behalf of the District.
  • Create, review, and maintain current and accurate documentation and procedures.
  • Responsible for enterprise wide backup integrity and security.
  • Coordinate with other departments on Physical Security implementation and maintenance.
  • Coordinate with Facilities department on infrastructure and maintenance of network needs for building automation systems, lighting, and new construction.
  • Serve as technical leader and provide second and third level support for technology staff using critical thinking and effective problem solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information discretely and professionally.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Technology.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to actively perform work in classroom, office, and other business and community settings.

Ability to move freely and perform duties in numerous locations throughout the day (typically involving frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and lifting).

Exposure to noise and activity of a school setting. Exposure to weather conditions. Ability to travel outside the district for a variety of meetings and conferences.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Newly hired employees will be placed on the ESP Salary Scale based on prior work experience that can be verified, that is recent (within the last ten years without an extended break in employment), and in a position of similar responsibilities.

Benefits as determined and approved annually by the Board of Education.


Pay:
$78, $118,000.00 per year
