How will you make an impact in this role?

Key Responsibilities:


  • Own the AI and ML COE and Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive AI and ML strategy tailored specifically for antimoney laundering, global sanctions, and risk detection. This includes using sophisticated machine learning algorithms, anomaly detection models, natural language processing, and predictive analytics.
  • Crossfunctional Collaboration: Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into AI and ML solutions. Work closely with technology, risk, compliance, and legal teams to ensure alignment with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Solution Development: Supervise the design, development, and deployment of AI and ML solutions to improve risk detection, compliance monitoring, and sanctions screening. Implement automation and intelligent decisionmaking processes to optimize risk mitigation efforts.
  • Tech Innovation and Evaluation: Stay abreast of emerging AI and ML technologies, tools, and platforms to continuously innovate and enhance risk and compliance capabilities. Evaluate new technologies and vendors to identify strategic partnerships and opportunities for advancement.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all AI and ML solutions enforce regulatory requirements, data privacy laws, and industry standards. Lead efforts to audit and validate AI models for compliance and ethical use.

Team Management:
Build and lead a successful team of AI and ML professionals, data scientists, and engineers. Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to drive innovation and cultivate a culture of continuous learning and development.

  • Partner Communication: Communicate AI and ML strategies, initiatives, and outcomes to senior leadership, board members, and external partners. Act as a leader with vision in the AI and ML space, representing the company at industry events and conferences.

Qualifications:


  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related field.
  • Proven track record of leading AI and ML initiatives in the context of antimoney laundering, global sanctions, and risk detection within the financial services or regulatory technology industry.
  • Expertise in building and deploying AI and ML models, including experience with deep learning, reinforcement learning, and unsupervised learning techniques.
  • High understanding of regulatory compliance, risk management, and financial crime prevention frameworks, such as AML, KYC, and sanctions screening.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage with partners at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Skills:


  • Experience with cloudbased AI and ML platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies, data governance, and data management practices.
  • Knowledge of industrystandard AI ethics and responsible AI practices.
  • Certifications in AI and ML, or related professional affiliations (e.g., IEEE, ACM).

Salary Range:
$170,000.00 to $255,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
