Figure Skating in Harlem (FSH) is the only organization to combine the power of education with the grace and discipline of figure skating to build young leaders.
For more than 27 years, our award-winning programs have provided girls from low-income communities with access to education, health and wellness services to help them reach their fullest potential.
Our vision is for every student, regardless of socio-economic background, to acquire the foundational academic, social and leadership skills to achieve her dreams.
She will be a powerful speaker, an effective leader, live a healthy lifestyle and be a global citizen. Headquartered in Harlem, we have launched our first chapter in 2017, Figure Skating in Detroit.JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for overseeing Harlem Ice Synchronized Skating programming on and off the ice; provides administrative support for general Synchronized Skating program operations
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with the planning and execution of four Harlem Ice Synchronized Skating Teams - Open Juvenile, Aspire 4/Preliminary, Aspire 3, and Aspire - Act as liaison between Director of Skating and Synchro Coaches
- Team building
- Communications
- Communicate with synchro team parents, alongside coaches
- Oversee and execute the tryout process
- Responsibilities include maintaining spreadsheet with registrant information and groupings
- Develop, send, and track all necessary communications related to synchro to students and families
- Work closely with Director of Skating and Synchro Coaches regarding costumes and music for the season
- Help in selection of all FSH teams
- Assist in measuring & fittings
- Help with office organization during the show as well as onice group photos and group numbers
- Order all costumes, tights, and Harlem Ice team apparel
- Assist with choreography and planning of all synchronized skating teams, as needed
- Work closely with Director of Skating in competition planning
- Including but not limited to competition registration, signing of waivers, scheduling
- Booking hotels, transportation, practice ice, food ordering, photography and videography ordering
- Communicating any specific needs of the teams
- Assist with execution of Synchro team performances at special events, including the Winter Skating Party and Ice Show
- Conduct parent meetings throughout the year to discuss competition schedules
- Act as a liaison during Saturday morning Chelsea Piers synchro practices

QUALIFICATIONS:
- College degree required
- 3 years related job experience
- Must be current with USFS membership, PSA membership (if applicable) and SafeSport certified
- Skating experience required
- Passion for youth development and education
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well organized and detail oriented
- High energy, positive attitude, flexible
- Demonstrated record of personal initiative and results focus
- Computer Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel necessary)
