Proven 5 years of experience in team management within a distribution center setting

• Knowledge of shipping processes
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed
• Familiarity with shipping and warehouse procedures
• Proficiency in logistics operations and warehouse management systems
• Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment
• Understanding of OSHA regulations for workplace safety

Job Overview:

Responsibilities:

Manage and lead a team of shipping personnel
Coordinate daily shipping tasks

• Ensure accurate and timely processing of orders
• Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
• Utilize forklifts and other equipment for material handling
• Monitor shipments to meet customer expectations
• Collaborate with other departments to optimize logistics operations
• Maintain the work area and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
• Report defective material or questionable condition to the department Manager.
• Contribute and adhere to safety and quality.
• Communicate status of operation in a timely manner.
• Examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workers.
• Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
• Ensure correct shipment of international orders.
• Assist employees with work process problems.
• Loading and unloading trucks by hand and/or forklift

Skills:

• Bilingual preferred (English/ Spanish)
• At least 5 years of shipping experience
• Previous leadership experience a plus
• Must be able to follow detailed instructions
• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
• Must be authorized to work in the US
• Emphasizes personal and professional growth. Keep knowledge and skills current.
• Be able to handle and inspect small and complex orders
• Focus on work and minimize interruptions
• Prioritize, work well under time pressure, and focus on work in midst of noise
• Maintain a good, cooperative, and respectful attitude
• Comply with safety laws and regulations
• Job function requires excellent vision
• Must be able to perform basic physical tasks such as lifting 50lb.
