Description

Duties:

  • Supports research and provides advisory counsel to the Assistant Manager & Township Manager regarding HR practices and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws.
  • Supports training initiatives for staff development through the facilitation and scheduling of offsite, onsite, and computerbased training programs, online skills evaluation, classwork, testing and certification.
  • Collects data for and prepares various wage and salary surveys, reviews, and reports. Ensures that information regarding salary grade levels and reports are kept current as per municipal standards.
  • Supports employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, pension, workers compensation, and unemployment compensation.
  • Supports Township's document management system, ensures that information is maintained in its correct location and that it can readily be accessed in both electronic and paper formats.
  • Supports the quarterly publication of the Township's Newsletter to include the collection and editing of content, distribution via the Township website and maintenance of physical mailing addresses.
  • Ensures that the Township website has all pertinent data posted. Acts as central Communication Liaison for the Township.
  • Supports administrative tasks for cell phones, Township phone system, document management, copiers, and website redesign project.
  • Coordinates and updates templates such as personnel reviews, benefit changes and employee requisition process.

Experience:


  • Associate degree in business or administrative certifications such as a Clerical Specialist and/or Public Relations with Social Media experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in administration office and or administrative support role within a multidepartment functioning organization
  • Considerable knowledge of modern office practices and procedures including operating general office equipment such as copiers and computers using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Considerable knowledge of official records including budgets, receipts, expenditures, payroll, pensions, Township ERP system and taxes.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to expeditiously learn, the current Township operating system.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to cultivate customer orientation.
  • Ability to promote accountability for completion of goals and objectives.
  • Ability to support multiple tasks at a time within the organization.
  • Ability to function independently, have personal integrity, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively with the public and fellow employees.
  • Ability to fluently speak and read the English language along with understanding and following both written and verbal direction daily.
  • Ability to input data, view, and comprehend information on a computer for extended periods, such as two or three hours at a sitting.
  • Ability to pull, push, move, and/or transport fifteen (15) pounds daily.
