Description

The Homeless Outreach Street Team (HOST) is a partnership between Integral Care, the Downtown Austin Community Court (DACC), ATCEMS Community Health Paramedics (CHPs), and APD engaging in outreach services with people experiencing homelessness in downtown Austin.

HOST provides services in the community wherever individuals experiencing homelessness may be found, including city streets, parks, churches, at partner homeless service agencies, and at Pop-Up Resource Centers.

HOST also plays an active role in the City of Austin's HEAL Initiative, which entails targeted outreach at homeless encampments identified for closure and assisting individuals there with their transition into bridge shelter.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Education:


Required:

  • At least a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum number of hours that is equivalent to a major in psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, physician assistant, gerontology, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education, or early childhood intervention.
  • Applicants with a bachelor's or master's degree in a field not explicitly listed above may be eligible if they completed at least 27 hours of relevant human services coursework. In this case, official academic transcripts must be provided for review by our credentialing committee.

License:


Required:

  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Pay:
$22.35 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
