    Introduction:

    Our client is seeking a Cloud Engineer for a long-term program supporting an IC customer in McLean, VA. This position requires an active TS/SCI full-scope polygraph clearance.

    The Cloud Engineer will design and develop middleware software, provide ongoing maintenance and support for on-premise and cloud data centers, troubleshoot complex problems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. The role requires experience in Linux server administration, web application support, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts, operations tools, scripting, AWS cloud solutions, MySQL and Elasticsearch administration, and technical documentation writing.

    Role:

    1. 1. Design and develop complex middleware software primarily written in Python and Bash.
    2. 2. Interact with Sponsor components for approval of security-relevant changes.
    3. 3. Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms for on-premises and cloud data centers.
    4. 4. Troubleshoot complex problems and provide customer support for software systems and application issues.
    5. 5. Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, analysts, project managers, and other engineers.
    6. 6. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement in an Agile environment.

    Requirements:

    1. Demonstrated experience providing Linux server administration and web application support.
    2. Demonstrated experience developing and implementing solutions in a dispersed team environment.
    3. Demonstrated experience or familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts and ability to apply them to a successful and established program.
    4. 4. Demonstrated experience in operations to include Git, Jenkins, Rundeck, Jira, and Confluence.
    5. 5. Demonstrated experience writing short Python, Java, and Bash scripts.
    6. 6. Demonstrated experience with AWS Cloud solutions.
    7. 7. Demonstrated experience with MySQL system administration and script development.
    8. 8. Demonstrated experience with Elasticsearch administration and script development.
    9. 9. Demonstrated experience writing technical documentation for security (ATO), architecture, and implementation guides.

    Nice to Have:

    1. 1. Demonstrated experience supporting the technical processing of vetting requests for analytical comparison against the Sponsor's holdings.
    2. 2. Demonstrated experience with computer processing platforms such as computers, mobile, or I.O.T. and using that knowledge in a clustered computing environment.
    3. 3. Demonstrated experience in continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) utilizing Cloud infrastructure, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
    4. 4. Demonstrated experience writing and developing technical documentation for security, architecture, and deployment plans.
    5. 5. Certification(s): Active CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ certifications
