    Description

    The Jefferson Township Local Schools is looking for a dedicated Intervention Specialist for K-12.



    Location:
    Jefferson Sr. High School - Jefferson Township Local Schools

    Position Purpose:
    * Under the School Principal's supervision to enhance the learning experience of students with special needs by implementing approved curriculum.* Conducting assessments and examinations to identify learning issues and recommend corrective procedures.* Collaborating with outside agencies and assisting in developing Individual Educational Plans.


    Essential Functions:
    * Conducting assessments and diagnostic examinations.* Participating in developing Educational Plans.* Assisting in implementing behavior management plans.* Coordinating with outside agencies and state authorities as necessary.* Serving as a resource to students and parents for counseling and support.


    Additional Duties:
    * Performing tasks assigned by the Principal and central office administrators.* Note: The description is illustrative and not exhaustive.


    Equipment:
    * Utilizing standard office equipment like computers and printers.


    Travel Requirements:
    * Traveling to district buildings and professional meetings as needed.


    Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
    * Understanding of Special Education principles and testing methods.* Knowledge of data analysis and action plan formulation.* Ability to establish cooperative relationships with stakeholders.


    Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards:
    * Working in standard office and school environments.


    Qualifications Profile:

    Certification/License:
    * Ohio State Certification as a Special Education Teacher.* Motor Vehicle Operator's License.* FBI/BCI background check.* Preschool Certification.


    Education:
    * Bachelor's degree in education.* Master's Degree in Special Education.


    Experience:
    * Prior special education teaching experience preferred.

    Exempt
