CMHA is looking to hire an Accounts Payable Specialist for our Finance Department. This position will be located in New Britain.


Summary:
Performs all duties related to accounts payable, including processing of year-end tax forms and annual audit review. Responsible for all aspects of agency credit card purchasing. Reconciliation of prepaid accounts. Processes and records remote bank deposits. Provides expense detail to program staff to complete explanations of budget to actual variances.


Essential Responsibilities and Target Outcomes:


  • Maintains and processes agency accounts payable invoices.
  • Produces yearend 1099Misc. and 1099 NEC forms.
  • Processes and records remote bank deposits.
  • Responsible for the administration of the Agency credit card including issuance and ensuring proper allocation of funds for the monthly purchases.
  • Responsible for the expense reconciliation of agencywide credit card purchases.
  • Prepares assigned general ledger entries and posting in financial software.
  • Reconciles monthly prepaid accounts for entry into general ledger.
  • Backup for the reconciliation of various bank accounts.
  • Performs other administrative related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Associate's degree in Accounting


Credentials and Licenses:
CT Driver's License


Experience:


  • Experience, preferably a minimum of three years, in a financial/accounting environment including accounts payable, account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, audit support, and maintaining adequate controls.
  • Basic understanding of financial statements and budgets.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Products including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to utilize financial management systems, specifically accounts payable modules.

COMPENSATION RANGE - $ $24.00 an hour
