Position Summary:


The Night Dietary Aide performs a variety of tasks required within a food service operation including patient tray assembly / delivery, dish area, re-stocking, and cleaning.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
ANSI Accredited Food Handler Certification within 30 days.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Ability to follow written and oral communication. Ability to verbally communicate effectively with co-workers, nursing staff, patients and guests of the hospital. Knowledge of modified diets. Ability to complete multiple cash and charge transactions accurately. Knowledge of how to operate deep fryer, flat griddle, pizza oven, pannini maker, and serve from a steam table


Essential Functions:

  • Restock food and small wares supplies according to the established par levels.
  • Drop off patient tray carts to in a timely manner.
  • Keep production preparation areas clean and sanitary using the established Public Health District standards.
  • Follow guidelines for food handling and sanitation and ensure compliance.
  • Prepares food and beverage requests in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Complete dish and ware washing duties as assigned.
  • Pickup patient trays from unit utility closets
  • Maintain dish room, ware washing area and tray assembly area in a clean and sanitary manner.
  • Limit over production to minimum to control waste and food cost.
Effective September 20, 2021, the COVID 19 vaccine is required for all new Carle Health team members. Requests for medical or religious exemption will be permitted.
